We're delighted to announce that due to our recent game update (on Steam), Valve has now given Regency Solitaire II an official Green Tick.

What we did:

We’ve been working on enhancing the Regency Solitaire II gameplay experience,for Steam Deck players. The game already plays on Steam Deck, but we've done some work to make it easier for players on that device.

On change has been to the wildcard fan in the bottom right, which was fiddly on a touch screen.

Since this enhancement is all about functionality, we opted for this panel. Here’s how it will work:

• When you tap a wildcard, the panel will instantly close, and the chosen card will fly off the fan to the foundation.
• The panel will open and close immediately, ensuring gameplay remains smooth.
• Even if there's only one card on the fan, the panel will still appear for consistency.

I considered animating the cards flying out or having the panel slide in, but was concerned this might slow down gameplay.

Other Enhancements:

• The on-screen keyboard will now pop up automatically when you’re prompted to enter your name.
• Font sizes have been boosted in various places for better readability on the Steam Deck.
• "Click to continue" on the first story dialog has been updated to "Tap to continue" and made larger.
• All tutorial text has been updated from "Click" to "Tap".
• If you use "Exit Game" via the Steam button, the game will no longer display the "Sorry the game didn't close properly last time" message on the next boot.
• The "Set as Wallpaper" button has been hidden on Steam Deck since it's not applicable.
